Youngsan University holds investment contest for startups in Southeast…

Yeongsan University (President Buh Guk-wook and Wiseu) held an investment contest to develop startup companies in the Gyeongnam region, earning KRW 845 million in investment. 

Yeongsan University's Early Startup Package Business Unit (headed by Yeo Seok-ho) held the 'Southeast Region Startup WISEU Investment Competition' at the Yangsan Business Center on the 22nd with 100 participants, including Lee Young-seok, head of the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Agency, Noh Chan-yong, chairman of Yeongsan University, and President Buh Gu-wook, as well as regional professional investment institutions and local government officials. The contest, which was held for the second time after last year, was limited to companies fostered by the Early Startup Package Business Unit in the first year, but this year, the scale was expanded to include startups in the Southeast region.

Ten companies participated in the contest, which was preliminarily evaluated. As a result, Jang Tae-hwa (K-Beauty Cosmetics) and Kim Tae-yang (Kick the Huddle) jointly won the top prize, the Gyeongnam Regional SME Agency Award, and Kim Bong-ki (ErenBio), Kwon Bin (P.S.B.), and Park Joong-gun (JD Engineering) won the President's Award of Youngsan University, Hyungjin Kim (Intrax), Changjin Jang (CLS Shipbuilding Technology), Sunhee Lee (Bueno Company), Yoonjin Lee (Future Creation Education Center), and Jaeha Song (Zintech) received the President of Industry-Academia Cooperation Award, which is an encouragement award. 

In particular, the competition resulted in the signing of investment contracts worth KRW 845 million, including KRW 500 million from ErenBio, KRW 245 million from K-Beauty Cosmetics, KRW 50 million from C-L Ship Technology, and KRW 50 million from JD Engineering.

"We feel rewarded that we have achieved the result of signing investment contracts by holding an investment promotion contest to develop the startup ecosystem and startup companies in Gyeongnam," said Yeo Seok-ho, head of the business unit. "We plan to expand the event next year so that we can achieve more results by establishing an efficient program."
